About Knights South

Who we are

Knights South Baseball began with 1 11u team here in North Alabama coached by our Owner Justin Lawless.  Seeing the need for another option here in North Alabama for athletes to achieve their goals, he partnered with Knights Baseball out of Nashville to bring their brand to North Alabama.

Prior there was only 1 option for most players 13 & up locally or you had to travel outside the state.  With a vision of providing an affordable, well coached, and schedules that fit the teams/players levels of play Knights South began.  We started by going out and finding the best High School/College/Pro coaches and begain the process of building teams.

3 years later we now have over 35 teams, 400+ players, and the request to be a Knight continues to grow.  Our goal is to create a family environment from 7 years old to 18 years old, where young players can see what they can become and the older players can set the standard for the Knights South name.

Who we are

Justin Lawless is married to Whitney Lawless and they have four kids, Stone, Holland, Reddic, & Parks.  Justin has been coaching & teaching baseball for over 20 years.  He has coached ages 7-18, and been all over the SouthEast coaching & training.  He also offers hitting lessons where trains hitters on the physical and mental approach to the game, and has worked with numerous athletes on achieving their goals in the sport of baseball.

Youth sports is a passion for Justin and something he takes very personally.  The countless hours spent calling college coach, local coaches, also the texts, emails, & phone calls with players and parents is something he never tires of.  He truly believes there is no great calling than to see a player and their family realize their potential and ultimately their goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have teams from 7U all the way to 18U.  Our teams 13U and above are all coached by coaches we hire and pay, former collegiate players, local High School coaches, and former MLB players.  Ages 12 and below are usually coached by dads who are trying to help the team develop and get to our older age groups down the road.

We have teams all over North Alabama, for the most part we are Cullman, AL north and go east and west accross the state up into southern Tennessee.

Our 7-12 year old teams for the most part play locally and may travel some based on the skill level of the team and what the parents/players want to do.  They mange their own budgets and schedules at the local level and do their best to keep it affordable and realistic for the age.

13 and up tend to travel 50% of the time, however travel could be Hoover, Memphis, Albertville, Atlanta for the most part with our 14 and up sometimes traveling north to Cincinatti and south to Florida and Lousiana.  Price again varies by team and skill level and would be discussed based on a kids selection.
